Founded in 2004, KABABISH became the first Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi takeout restaurant in America, revolutionizing Delhi style taste forever. Every KABABISH dish is made with fresh halal meat and seasoned with our secret family recipes. Since it’s opening, we have ensured our customers the best authentic food with prices that remain affordable. As time has progressed, many have tried to imitate our recipes but the secret lies within the mind of the owner and cannot be duplicated. The owner prepares the secret family recipe spices for every dish and gives it to the chef to season the food. The Gola Kabab, Nihari, Haleem, Korma, Kata Kat, and Tawa Keema are some of our famous specialties.
The mastermind behind KABABISH, Tahir Kamil, started off his career traveling around the globe to purchase steel for his father’s business. This gave Mr. Kamil the opportunity to try desi cuisines from different cultures and he realized that they were lacking authenticity and originality. Mr. Kamil belongs to the family of Delhi Punjabi Saudagaran, raised with delicious kababs, as well as other cultural dishes, cooked to perfection. After moving to New York, Mr. Kamil eventually became frustrated that he could not find authentic Desi dishes, specifically Delhi style, anywhere. This inspired him to follow the steps of his grandfather, Abdul Khaliq, who owned a restaurant in Bombay in the early 1930s. Mr. Kamil opened up KABABISH using the same secret family recipes that were passed down for generations within his family.
KABABISH quickly became a favorite and started expanding to catering for weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, and corporate events. In addition to catering for parties, we also participate in various events and food shows, such as the “Great Muslim Adventure Day” at Six Flags and the World’s Largest Garage Sale. KABABISH proudly serves numerous Muslim Organizations such as ICNA, ISNA, and the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. Due to increasingly high demand, KABABISH has partnered with Delta Airlines to ship our food to customers nationwide. After over a decade of providing delicious Desi food, KABABISH has been recognized on food blogs and travel channels throughout the nation.
